Used Trucks for Sale Blog

outdoor_banners_flagsIt doesn’t matter if you are a store owner or a homeowner, or both, fall is everyone’s favorite time of year to decorate outdoors.  There’s nothing wrong with pumpkins, mums and scarecrows, but the easiest way to welcome fall is with outdoor banners and flags.  This is especially true if you run a business that has an annual Fall Clearance Sale or a Back-to-School event.  But it’s not uncommon for homeowners to use rectangular garden flags to usher in this colorful season.

For the homeowner or outdoor decorator, it’s easy to get inspired by the colorful décor that is available in stores.  But even if you prefer flowers and haystacks, nothing pulls it all together as well as outdoor banners and flags.  They can also be used to reinforce a theme for Halloween decorating.  But some people prefer fall décor that isn’t focused on one holiday.  A fall cornucopia flag will look great all the way from September through Thanksgiving, and it can be paired with a second flag that says “Happy Halloween” or “Happy Thanksgiving.”

While searching for some ideas for this year’s fall décor at my business, I ran into this article – “Why Your Fall Décor Should Include Outdoor Banners and Flags.”  It says that many businesses are turning to outdoor flags and banners as a way to remain competitive in tough economic times.  If your store is located on a busy street that gets a lot of traffic, outdoor flags and banners can make the difference between a busy weekend sale and a slow one.  People are creatures of habit, and may pass your store everyday without even noticing it, but put up a colorful flag announcing a Fall Sale and you would be surprised at how many people show up.

The effect of an outdoor banner is about more than just its shape or design.  It even goes beyond the wording printed on it.  Outdoor banners and flags capture the attention of passersby because they wave in the breeze and create a distraction.  Even drivers who no longer notice their familiar surroundings may be attracted by the movement of a flag.  When surveyed, many shoppers will say that it was a window sign or outdoor banner that actually drew them into the store.
